The joint Polish-American study programme was launched in 1998, within the framework of co-operation with theMidwest Universities Consortium for International Activities, Inc. – MUCIA Global which associates a number of the key universities located in the US Midwest region, i.e.: Indiana University, The Pennsylvania State University, The Ohio State University, Michigan State University, University of Wisconsin - Madison, University of Illinois, University of Iowa, Purdue University, University of Minnesota. Two out of these, namely the Pennsylvania and Wisconsin Universities, have ranked amongst the top ten economic schools in the American Economic Review ranking (published by the American Economic Association).
Courses are realised in two majors:
Within the context of the Programme, the School has been organising summer schools: first at Columbus (specialisation in „Operational Management”) then, from 1999, at the Purdue University w West Lafayette/ Indiana (specialisation in „Global Financial Market” and „Global Securities”). The Summer School participants also visit the Chicago Board of Trade and the Mercantile Stock Exchange, Caterpillar and Eli Lilly, thus gaining insight into the practical aspects of "global markets" and multi-cultural companies.
Following the tradition of the Summer School organised at the Purdue University, a bilateral agreement on the student and faculty staff exchange between the two Universities has been signed. The Rector of GSBE-HSICF has received a letter of congratulations and the title of the honorary citizen of Columbus and West Lafayette, in recognition of his contribution to the development of international co-operation in the area of higher education, between Poland and the US.

Language of instruction – English.
During each Session the students watch lectures delivered by American scientists, recorded on VHS cassettes. Sessions are supervised and managed by faculty members of GSBE-HSICF. Each course closes with an exam, graded by the representatives of Universities belonging to the Consortium. Students with at least four credits can take part in the three one-week summer school sessions in US (Purdue University), in order to add other courses to their curriculum and to become acquainted with American financial institutions and companies.
The MUCIA Global Education Network Certificate is signed by the Rector of GSBE-HSICF and by representatives of MUCIA. The Certificate enhances the graduate’s potential of finding good employment and is useful to those graduates who wish to continue their studies in the US.
Tuition fees
Courses are offered free of charge to the students of GSBE-HSICF. All other participants pay 300 PLN per course (subject).

students of Economics, regardless of the Faculty, may choose any five courses out of the nine offered, on top of the ones that are mandatory for all students.
Recruitment starts in October and February, and is handled by the International Affairs Office.
