Ventrure in Business Economics Studies (ViBES)
Aims
The ViBES programme (Venture in Bachelor Economic Studies) is a cooperation between the Skarbek Graduate School of Business Economics (SGSBE) and the Erasmus School of Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam (ESE-EUR), ranked fourth among European universities in social science (The Times Higher Education Supplement, 2005). It aims to give the best students from SGSBE an international bachelor level by accepting them for the 3rd year of the bachelor-level into Erasmus University after having followed the first two years at SGSBE.
Structure
- Applicants to ViBES will have to demonstrate a good command of English and go through a selection procedure at SGSBE carried out by the staff members of both SGSBE and the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
- The first two years of studies are run at SGSBE in Warsaw, Poland, and 50 % of classes are taught in English.
- The third year of studies is at ESE-EUR in the Netherlands, where all courses are run in English.
- The final thesis required for obtaining the Bachelor degree will be supervised and graded by staff members of both institutions. The entire Bachelor thesis must be written in English.
- Course load is expressed in line with the European Community Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) to facilitate exchange of credits when students move between the participating institutions.
- The total bachelor programme is 180 ECTS with 120 ECTS in Poland and 60 ECTS in Rotterdam.
- ViBES leads to dual degrees: B.Sc. in Economics & Business from Erasmus University Rotterdam and B.A. in Business Economics from SGSBE.
- The programme also gets the student the ViBES certificate to demonstrate the international character of the education.
- The iIBES programme coordinators from SGSBE and Erasmus University can be directly approached with suggestions for improvement and any complaints regarding the programme.
